It's the time of the month that is for me, one of the most exciting and nervous times as a comics fan. The times of new comic series - we could get new titles launched and old ones cancelled, as well as creative changes and jumping on points. It can often be hard as a new reader to work out where to jump onto comics, especially creator owned ones that don't have .NOW marked handily on them in order to tell you when you can jump on them or not. However, that said - there are some cracking solicits from Image in May later this year, and here are the Top 5 that you should be adding to your pull-list.

SHOULD YOU BE READING? It's
awesome. I'm behind on this title having only read Volume 1 but Saga is
easily one of the best titles right now at Image and I'm hoping that #19 is
going to be a good jumping on point, as new directions generally are. Fiona
Staples is a fantastic artist and Brian K. Vaughan can write incredibly well -
so it should be interesting to see where Vaughan takes the series from
here.

SHOULD YOU BE READING? Like Saga, I've
only read the first volume of The Walking Dead and it's
something that every comic fan should have at least heard of. It's the
definitive zombie series at the moment and currently in the middle of the
second season of the awesome TV show I can't wait to get stuck into the comic -
the aftermath of All Out War should be a good jumping on point
and a double sized issue for the standard price is always a good thing.

have been loving every issue. it's just a superb series - and I'm glad that an
upcoming jumping on point will get readers back into the title. The only
downside is the pricetag - especially when you consider that The Walking
Dead has ten more pages and is still only $2.99 -

because things could get very interesting from here on out.
